The Brief
We’ve worked with the Energizer Holdings team on a few activations over the years, and when California Scents needed a summer campaign to boost sales and brand awareness, we knew just what to suggest. The brief from California Scents always pivots around making sure the product gets into the hands of car drivers, so that they’re gifting their target audience with free samples. To achieve this, we suggested partnering with a drive-in cinema called Cinestock…
Our approach.
Working with Cinestock across 17 events in the south east of England, we negotiated a full sponsorship deal to support them with free samples at each, flags on either side of the screen, on-screen adverts and leaflets to be handed out to each attendee. Alongside this, to drum up excitement leading up to the cinema tour, radio adverts, posters and flyers were commissioned to boost ticket sales and ensure a big crowd at each venue.
The results.
82,500 flyers with the California Scents logo on were distributed to the surrounding areas in the lead up to the event, and 8,450 samples and leaflets about the product and brand were handed out. With promotional staff in branded high vis reporting back to us after each screening, the samples went down a treat amongst the popcorn and hotdogs.
