Driving engagement at the Trafford Centre…
We love a sampling campaign as it gives us on-the-ground experience talking to the public about a brand and seeing their first hand reaction to the products. That’s why working with California Scents at the Trafford Centre is one of our favourite projects!
This project really utilised our integrated approach, with team brainstorming, designed assets, print collateral and more. Taking place over a busy weekend in September, the team headed out with a van full of California Scents car freshener samples to meet with the Trafford Centre promotional team and set up for a busy few days ahead…
Our Approach.
Tasked with increasing brand awareness and getting product into the hands of car owners, the Trafford Centre seemed like a great place to meet these objectives. Placed strategically near the car park entrances to the mall, with posters round the multistory to drum up excitement, we approached people with free samples and leaflets as they entered, passed by and left the shopping centre. To encourage further excitement and give passers-by a reason to stay at the pop up stand, we also hosted a competition to win a £2,000 holiday voucher to win a road trip around the US.
The Results.
With only branded sampling bins, an iPad, 18,000 samples, 12,000 leaflets, branded deck chairs, screen visuals, posters and two great promo team members, we managed to secure nearly 2,000 competition entries, every sample handed out to visitors and a really positive connotation built between shoppers and the California Scents brand.
