The brief

With extensive expertise in creating captivating and standout brochures, Akula approached us with the task of designing and developing a 300 page hard-back brochure. The brief was simple – it needed to command attention, be an invaluable resource for interior designers, and completed within a short timeframe. The client had a clear vision in mind of how they wanted the brochure to look and feel and how it should communicate their brand message, but needed that support in helping it come to life – and that’s where we stepped in.

Our approach.

Before delving into the depths of the brochure, we had an initial project planning meeting with the team. Left feeling inspired, we undertook competitor and industry research to ensure that we created a modern and sophisticated final product that catered to their target markets. We then began designing initial cover concepts, which were shared with the client to choose from. Once this had been decided, it enabled us to continue with the rest of the brochure pages.

Working together with the team at Akula, we created a pagination of the brochure, where they were able to add all the information needed for each page. Once we had everything we needed from the team, we began by designing the layout of the collection introduction pages. This led nicely onto the technical pages which needed to be created with precision and attention to detail. Once we had a sign off on the pages it was time to duplicate the design for each of the different collections needed within the brochure. After weeks of intricate refinements and the print deadline looming, our team of experts undertook print checks of the 300-page brochure to ensure everything was perfect.

The results.

The print-ready artwork was given a final sign off by the Akula team before it headed to the printers in China. The visually striking design debuted at the Boutique Design New York exhibition in November, inspiring professionals looking for contemporary outdoor furniture solutions. From this, they have since returned to us with more digital projects and ad-hoc work to complete.
