Our Leeds-based marketing team has been working closely with stair lift and moving and handling equipment manufacturer, Handicare, on an internal communications strategy to bring it together with its sister company, Companion.

Company overview.

Handicare and Companion are part of the same company, however, due to their distribution channels – one to trade and one direct to consumer – they are seen as separate companies internally.

The manufacturer turned to Pure to help staff internally see the two brands as one company. And as an integrated marketing agency, we have a number of services all under one roof to help!

The brief.

Handicare had been using an illustration of an old lady named Auntie Doris as part of its internal communications for many years, but felt this was now rather dated and no longer a typical customer of the two brands.

We developed a strategy to build a family for Doris, which also included illustrations of key staff within the company, as well as other users of the equipment such as occupational therapists and people of all ages with disabilities.

Designing and animating the Handicare family.

Our illustrators and motion graphics team then took to the drawing board to sketch, design and animate the Handicare/Companion family.

The family will be used to strengthen the relationship between Companion and Handicare, whilst reaffirming the brand values. Doris, along with her extended family, will be used across a number of internal outlets to engage staff, including newsletters, presentations, intranet and animated videos – all designed, developed and built by Pure.
